From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The term data refers to groups of information that represent the qualitative or quantitative attributes of a variable or set of variables. Data (plural of "datum", which is seldom used) are typically the results of measurements and can be the basis of graphs, images, or observations of a set of variables. Data are often viewed as the lowest level of abstraction from which information and knowledge are derived. What does it mean to pass data by value and how does that compare to passing data by reference? Explain to me why we would pass some data by value and others by reference. Asked by John R - Mon Oct 13 17:23:38 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. if you pass data by value then you are only passing the value stored in that variable. If you then change that value, in a method for example, it doesn't change the value in the original variable. On the other hand if you pass by reference, and you change the value, then it WILL change in the original variable. There will be times, such as when you work with arrays, that you might want to use the value stored in a particular spot in the array and use it in a calculation. Other times you will want to change the actual value in the array itself. hope that helps some. For some of my hw problems my prof asks for the answer for both population data and sample data. What is the difference and how to I calculate them differently Asked by lovefromabove25 - Tue Feb 26 14:16:45 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. The population is the ENTIRE population: For instance if there are 450 students in your class to get the population data you would have to ask all 450 students. Most of the time this isn't practical, so you select a representative sample and extrapolate that to the whole population. The difference is in the mean used. You can never get the population mean without measuring the entire population, so you use - which is the expected value E(x). The sample mean is x (which is called x bar, couldn't quite get the symbol) which is the average of the sample. In terms of the math used this is a very good website to explain: Answered by Hate the liars and the Lies - Tue Feb 26 23:41:38 2008 How to copy data from another sheet in Excel 2007?
Q. How can I do this using excel 2007 function. Plz someone give me a solution. Asked by Judith - Fri Mar 13 03:18:27 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. If your sheets are actually named "Sheet 1" and "Sheet 2" =VLOOKUP('Sheet 1'!A1,'Sheet 2'!A:H, 7,0) This will loookup the value in Sheet 1 A1 in column A of Sheet 2. If a match is found, it will return the value from Sheet 2 column 7 in the same row as the match. .
