Q. How to write a PHP coding to list out all files and directories as links to them? This is somewhat similar to some index pages. When new file or folder is added to the directory, HTML page should display the newly created file/folder together with previous ones after it is being refreshed. (prefer in alphabatical order) How to achieve this sort of functionality in PHP? Please provide sample coding as well. (and any references) Thanks.

Q. I need to restrict access to a handful of directories during evening hours, but still allow users access to other directories. Restricting login hours with GPO seems to be an all or nothing proposal and will not work for what we are doing. Is there another possible solution?

Everyone puts backlinks on the usual sites, like blogs, forums, social bookmarking...etc And we all should do this anyway. The key is te quality of the backlinks. And as you have mentioned, at least a PR7 rank in google. Well I have found the perfect answer to what you are looking for. There is a way, and you said easy way, so what is easier than having someone else so the work for you. Not just sloppy work, or the usual page rank stuff. The best thing about this site is you can download a constantly updated Excel spreadsheet with all the directory urls for free and you don't even have to subscribe. A. Kinshuk has it exactly right. The more inter-related your pages are the more likely you are to catch the attention of search engines. Meta tags used to work for this, but they got abused. Now it is more important to have lot's of clear desciptive text on each page, and, very importantly, that the titles of your pages be very reflective of their content and not too generic. When you pay someone to optimize your site, these are the things they do. Of course, paying google can work wonders.

A. Most of the following are pretty good and free but please bear in mind that Dmoz is extremely difficult to get your site listed. I would avoid some of the paid directories unless you check page rank of the directory to see if it is worth linking to that directory. You may want to get it listed in Yahoo directory which is free if your site is not a buisness site.
