A. Join SEO Chat forums. There are topics in those forums telling you where to find my free directories. They will also be able to help you with other techniques for promoting your website. I work as an SEO and online marketer, and SEO Chat is a very useful resource--both the forums, and the tools on the main site. I highly recommend it. Another place where you can find a long listing of free directories is Directory Critic. Most of the directories listed on this site are good quality directories that will provide you with valuable backlinks. I have listed all of these websites in the sources section. Anyone know of any directory registration companies that'll register your site to all the web directories?
Q. I heard there's companies based out of India that just specialize is submitting your sites to hundreds/thousands of web directories for a small fee. I would prefer reputable companies that people have actually hired for these purposes.

A. Do it for free at No one can guarantee that they can get you to the top of a search engine. Don't pay for that. Put good content on your pages that people want and the search engines will index you.
